The {Polite} Gospel

Sorry, thank you, please. This is not art to promote good manners. This is the gospel. In last Sunday's preaching, our pastor said that we need only say three things as we step into and move forward in our walk with Jesus.

Sorry for our sin with a true heart of repentance

1 John 1:9
If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness

Thank You for God's free gift of salvation through the redemptive work on Christ on the cross

Ephesians 2:8
For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God;

Please help me, fill me, enable me according to your Word

Hebrews 13:20-21
Now the God of peace, who brought up from the dead the great Shepherd of the sheep through the blood of the eternal covenant, even Jesus our Lord, equip you in every good thing to do His will, working in us that which is pleasing in His sight, through Jesus Christ, to whom be the glory forever and ever. Amen.

So simple, so profound. I hope you'll catch yourself caught up with awe at God's powerful plan the next time you utter any of these common courtesies.
